Author/illustrator Profile Marlyn Anderson is an artist-photographer-author and educator.Though the Pro Arte Maya Education Project for children in Guatemala, a Maya/Spanish version of the Maya Arts and Crafts of Guatemala coloring books are distributed in a collaborative effort between Anderson with the Jun Ajpu Ixb'alamke Council of Maya schools and the Institute of Language and Education (University Rafael Landívar). The project's goal is to affirm and celebrate the cultural importance of Maya arts and crafts and to help children increase their consciousness and knowledge of them. As a member of the Fair Trade Federation, in the North America and elsewhere, Anderson seeks through her art and publications to educate the public about Fair Trade about the cultural dimension of fair traded Maya arts and crafts.
